Beth is an avid downhill and backcountry skier, mountain biker and hiker. After 28 years of being inspired by her adventures in the Canadian Rockies Beth has found a way to express her love for this environment by combining it with an interest in woodworking, which developed from her shared experiences growing up with her Uncle, a master woodworker in Ste. Adele Quebec.
Her passion for mountain pursuits, coupled with her desire to express this passion through the medium of creative woodcutting, results in works of art that are vivid, colourful and imaginative.
Beth's art assumes a different feel depending on the background the piece is placed on. Her unique medium allows the collector to set the tone of the negative space of each piece. The framed cutting may be placed against a window, on a neutral or colourful wall or with a mirror behind it creating an interactive element for each piece.
Beth has found, in this medium, a means of expressing her affinity for the mountain environment in which she lives.
